The April Port Townsend Community Dance will take place on Saturday, April 18th at the Quimper Grange. The Grange is located in Port Townsend’s Dundee Hill neighborhood at 1219 Corona Street. Doors open at 7:15 with dancing from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

The caller for April is Suzanne Girardot. Suzanne Girardot’s enthusiastic and clear dance teaching and calling have made her a favorite on both coasts. Her infectious laugh and easy-going personality put even the very beginning dancer at ease on the dance floor. Her unique, energetic teaching style helps students gain proficiency not only in the dance style they are learning, but also basic movement skills. When she calls, she projects her love of traditional dance and music.

Port Townsend’s Boiler Room Stringband will be serving up dance tunes f0r the evening. Boiler Room String Band is an all-youth string band formed at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes in 2025 . One of their largest inspirations is The Onlies, who taught them many of their favorite songs.

The Port Townsend Community Dance is inspired by traditional kitchen and barn dances and features a mixture of traditional sets, always danced to live music along with a dance caller. All experience levels are welcome; all dances are taught! Come alone, with a friend, with a partner, with the family – or with the whole village! Admission for the April dance is free! Donations to our program are always appreciated. Please bring your own personal water bottle and consider arriving on foot or by bicycle if possible!  The April dance is sponsored by both the Country Song and Dance Society and the City of Port Townsend Arts Commission.

    Hello,

Just to let you know I remain happy to help with cleanup after these dances, but will be out of town again this month. Hopefully in May!
