We are back to monthly dance events at Quimper Grange! The first dance of the fall will take place on Saturday, September 26th at the Quimper Grange. The Grange is located at 1219 Corona Street. Doors open at 7:15 with dancing from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

Caller David Thielk has called dances from Alaska to San Diego, and from Port Townsend to Wisconsin.  His style developed from years of calling in barns, community halls, living rooms, bars, parks and even an occasional hotel room! He calls traditional squares, contras, circles, mixers and reels that appeal to beginners and experienced dancers alike. His influencers include Larry Edelman, Susan Michaels, Phil Jamieson, and Fred Park. Dancers can expect a rich variety of figures, clear instructions, great energy, and some humor!  Dave also plays fiddle and banjo for dances, and organizes the monthly Port Townsend Community Dance.

Dance fiddler Kate Lichtenstein and friends will be pulsing out the dance tunes! Kate has played for dances all over the northwest, including our Port Townsend dance. She is a remarkable fiddler, and overall musician and singer. The Port Townsend Community Dance is inspired by traditional kitchen and barn dances and features a mixture of traditional sets, always danced to live music along with a dance caller. All experience levels are welcome; all dances are taught! Come alone, with a friend, with a partner, with the family – or with the whole village! Admission is a sliding scale: $10-20!
