The February Port Townsend Community Dance will take place on Saturday, February 21st at the Quimper Grange. The Grange is located in Port Townsend’s Dundee Hill neighborhood at 1219 Corona Street. Doors open at 7:15 with dancing from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.  

The caller for February is Morna Leonard. She is a well-known dance caller active in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in Washington and Montana. She has been a regular caller at events such as the Palouse Folklore Society dances in Moscow, Idaho, in Bellingham at the Fairhaven Library, and in San Juan Islands. Leonard is recognized for her energetic and welcoming style, and is an excellent teacher. This is Morna’s first time calling the Port Townsend Community Dance. She will be calling a delightful mixture of squares, contras and related sets.

The Port Townsend Community Dance is inspired by traditional kitchen and barn dances and features a mixture of traditional sets, always danced to live music along with a dance caller. All experience levels are welcome; all dances are taught! Come alone, with a friend, with a partner, with the family – or with the whole village! Admission is $10 per person/$20 per family; however, no one will be turned away at the door. Please bring your own personal water bottle and consider arriving on foot or by bicycle if possible!
